Latest Update Totally Changes How We Farm!

In the latest update of Clash of Clans, there were many huge changes made to the time required to train various troops.  This change has been overall very welcomed among the players, as it greatly reduces the amount of time it takes for players to create their armies for farming and clan wars.  Some troops are now 3x faster than before, while others are 2x as fast, and still others are slightly less than 2x as fast.

Here is an overview of the times now required to create troops/spells:

Wizards, Balloons, Valkyries, and Bowlers - These troops had their completion times reduced from 8 minutes to 5 minutes.

Dragons, Witches, and Wall Breakers - These units have had their completion times cut in half!  That means Dragons take 15 instead of 30 minutes, Witches take 10 instead of 20 minutes, and Wall Breakers take 1 minute instead of 2.

P.E.K.K.A., Golems, and Lava Hounds - These guys have had their completion times cut drastically from 45 minutes to only 15 minutes!

Spells and Dark Elixir Spells - All Spells have had their completion times cut in half!  All Dark Spells now only take 5 minutes to complete, and all Elixir Spells now only take 10 minutes to make.

How Will This Affect The Game?

While this update does not make it any less expensive to use the best troops in the game, it definitely removes the time constraints that caused some players to choose to use other kinds of armies in their attacks.  This will allow farmers to grab resources much faster than was previously possible.  You can now use stronger troops and still not have to wait over 30-45 minutes between attacks, so this will really help players who have had a hard time successfully raiding with weaker troops since they will now be able to make stronger troops much more quickly.

This is also going to help players that are pushing for trophies by greatly decreasing down time between attacks, which will cut down on instances where you get attacked while waiting for your troops to finish training.  Trophy pushers will also benefit from the fact that golems and some of the other strongest troops in the game now only take 1/3 of the time to train, allowing players to use more of them without sacrificing time (and possibly trophies).  In short, this allow trophy pushers to use stronger troops (and therefore have more raiding success), while also providing them with less situations of being attacked while training an army for raiding.

Around the corner, get ready for a slew of attack strategies!

I am currently writing some guides for several attacks that are quite popular right now, which should be released in the coming days. These will include Queen walk, Super Queen, Zapquake, Shattered GoLaLoon, GoHo, Surgical Hogs, including variations of these attacks and more. I will be including attacks for several different TH levels, so there will be attacks here usable by almost anyone! Be on the look out, they will start showing up very soon! Update - Star Bonus Breakdown

     The star bonus will apply different amounts to players in different leagues, with dark elixir bonuses starting at gold III! The bonus is actually not half bad, and with no further adieu here is the breakdown:

* So notice a few things here:  For one, dark elixir bonuses start at Gold III.  Each league after Silver I will increase gold and elixir bonuses by 20,000 all the way up to Titan III, where it reaches 360,000 and freezes there so every league above that has the same gold and elixir bonus.  Dark elixir bonuses start at 200 in Gold III and increase by 200 each league until Crystal II when it reaches 1,000.  After that, dark elixir only increases by 100 each league until Titan III when it freezes at 1,800 and stays there.  So at Titan III, all the resource bonuses are frozen and stays the same in all the leagues above it.


As you probably know, loot cart is a broken down cart of loot left behind by your enemy.  It gives you back a certain amount of the loot your enemy stole from you.  There can only be one on your village map at a time so make sure to collect it as soon as you get the message that you are being attacked!  And so you know what you're looking for with the Loot Cart, here is a picture of it:

Update Should Roll out Tuesday or Wednesday

     The latest Clash of Clans update should be rolling out in the next 24-48 hours (Tuesday or Wednesday). Along with what we already knew about; loot cart, treasury, and star bonus, the update will also have some balancing defensive features. The Eagle Artillery will now do 3x damage to Golems and Golemites, which should help slow the amount of GoWiWi attacks that have been taking down TH-11s in the higher leagues. Another defensive feature is aimed at adding difficulty to Dragon and Dragoon attacks at TH-6 and 7 by giving players at these TH levels another Air Defense. Nothing has been said about balancing the level 3 Witch, which seems to many to be the real force behind the ability of players to 3-star TH-11s using the GoWiWi strategy. We can only assume that it is either still in the works, or that SuperCell doesn't feel the need to change anything on the Witch at this time. We will see how this update works out soon enough, so be prepared for "golden hour" as soon as the update finishes, this should be an especially good one with so many players boosting their  collectors, so be ready!
